Biography

Maatouk Khoukhi earned his doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Tohoku University (Japan). He has a long record of academic and industrial experience in building engineering systems, bio materials, and building energy. After he received his PhD he was appointed as Research Fellow at Tohoku University. In 2006 he was appointed as a Faculty at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Mineral (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia and in 2009 at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Oman and then at United Arab Emirates University in 2017. He also held visiting faculty appointments at Building Research Centre (CSTB) France, University of Sydney, and University of Sharjah. His research work has been supported by several grants from Samsung, NEDO, and universities’ internal and external grants. The total budget of his projects exceeds 3.5 Million USD. He has published more than 120 journal and conference papers and has been granted one patent and approved for commercialization and two others in preparation.
