Biography

Marie Lucia Fanjaniaina, Lecturer-Researcher, Director of Projects and Partnerships at the University of Fianarantsoa and Expert in Sustainable Agriculture and Soil Management.

She holds a PhD in Agronomic Sciences from the Higher School of Agronomic Sciences (ESSA) at the University of Antananarivo, Madagascar. She is a Malagasy researcher specializing in sustainable agricultural systems, biomass recycling, and soil fertility management in mixed crop-livestock farming systems, particularly in the Malagasy Highlands.

Her strong academic background also includes

•          A Diploma of Advanced Studies in Forestry – Development – Environment

•          And an Agricultural engineering degree

She currently serves as an Associate Professor and Head of the Agronomy Department at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ISTE) at the University of Fianarantsoa. In addition, she is the Director of Projects and Partnerships, actively contributing to the development of scientific collaborations and applied research initiatives.

Dr. Fanjaniaina’s research focuses on

•          Sustainability of agro-pastoral systems

•          Valorization of organic waste and integrated nutrient management

•          Agroecology and land degradation mitigation.
