Biography
Syed Nazmus Sakib is an emerging researcher and educator in the field of renewable energy materials and device engineering, with a particular focus on microwave-assisted fabrication of perovskite solar cells. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia, under the International Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (iMQRES). Dr. Sakib also holds a Master of Engineering in Electronics Engineering from Macquarie University, where he graduated with the "Macquarie University Award for Academic Excellence", and a Master of Science in Renewable Energy Technology from the University of Dhaka, Institute of Energy, where he accomplished a government-funded solar energy project. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronics, and Communication Engineering from the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), where he was recognised as the Best Student in Research Work.
Before starting his PhD, Dr. Sakib served as a Lecturer in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at Daffodil International University (DIU) in Bangladesh. There, he taught electronics, communication systems, and renewable energy courses, supervised undergraduate projects, and served as the IEEE Student Branch Counsellor, fostering student innovation and leadership.
At Macquarie University, Dr. Sakib’s work focuses on bridging materials processing innovations with photovoltaic performance optimisation. He developed a unique experimental–simulation framework to study microwave absorption dynamics, heat transport, and crystallisation behaviour in hybrid halide perovskites. His research outcomes have been published in high-impact journals such as Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, Solar RRL, and Solar Energy Advances, contributing new insights into rapid, scalable fabrication techniques for next-generation solar technologies.
